Would you ever send money through Twitter?
For Twitter users in France, this is a new option.
Twitter is partnering with one of France’s leading banks, Groupe BPCE, to offer Twitter users in France a way to transfer money through a tweet.
Individuals in France will be able to do this regardless of which bank they use, or which bank in France will be receiving the funds.
S-Money, which is the bank’s mobile payment facility, already allows cash transfers via text message.
It sounds like this bank is looking for a way to expand its mobile offerings and, interestingly enough, Twitter is the next step.
The question is…will individuals use it? Is this the future of mobile banking?
